Storm causes discharge of sewage in Hillsborough
Heavy rains on Thursday caused about 3,600 gallons of untreated sewage to be discharged in Hillsborough's Gold Park outfall on Thursday morning, town officials said.
Posted — UpdatedHILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Heavy rains on Thursday caused about 3,600 gallons of untreated sewage to be discharged in Hillsborough's Gold Park outfall on Thursday morning, town officials said.
The untreated waste-water entered the Eno River Basin.
The discharge was called in at 8:20 a.m. and was stopped at 11:40 a.m., officials said.
