The state will pay Medicaid providers less for certain goods and services effective Thursday. The cuts come as a result of budget reductions in the Department of Health and Human Services, Secretary Lanier M. Cansler said.

The state expects to realize savings of almost $200 million over the next two years through the rate reductions.
