RALEIGH, N.C. — It will be a very warm week before temperatures fall a bit for the weekend.

Temperatures on Wednesday will warm up into the upper 60s by the afternoon, which will be dry but cloudy.

A chance of rain will return Thursday, which will be even warmer, with a high around 80 degrees. Thursday is the first day of spring, and there will be almost equal periods of daylight and darkness, Maloch said.

The warmest day of the week will be Friday, which will be dry and cloudy with highs in the low 80s.

Temperatures will fall slightly for the weekend, and a chance of rain will return.
