Siler City residents foil home break-in

Alert Siler City residents foiled a home break-in last Sunday in which four Chatham County residents were charged, according to the sheriff's office.

SILER CITY, N.C. — Alert Siler City residents foiled a home break-in last Sunday in which four Chatham County residents were charged, according to the sheriff's office.

Maj. Gary Blakenship said that neighbors saw four people breaking into a home at 815 Joe Brown Road around 3 p.m. on Dec. 12. The neighbors called 911 and confronted the suspects, who fled. A witness fired a shot in the air.

Two suspects were taken into custody at the scene, and two surrendered at the Siler City Police Department. All the stolen items were recovered.

Larry Foxx, 28 of 61 Lee St. in Pittsboro, Tiffany Foxx, 26, of 42 John Snipes Road in Siler City, and two teens – Jarvis Coble, 17, and Justin Alford, 16, both of 1410 Ross Ave. in Siler City – were each charged with felony breaking and entering, larceny, larceny of a firearm and injury to personal property.

Larry Foxx was also charged with possession of stolen property, and Tiffany Foxx faces an additional charge of giving fictious information to law enforcement.

All four suspects are scheduled to appear in court Jan. 3, 2011.

Tiffany Foxx was serving 24 months' probation for a January conviction for shoplifting, according to state Department of Correction records. She also has 2007 convictions for credit card fraud and drug possession.
