SANFORD, N.C. — Two businesses off N.C. Highway 87 in Harnett County were broken into early Friday.

Around 1:30 a.m., Harnett County deputies responded to the Food Lion at 133 Mittie Haddock Drive in Cameron. Glass at the front entrance was broken and the window was taped up.

A robbery occurred 45 minutes later at Value Mart, located at 5231 NC-87 in Sanford near the Harnett-Lee County line.

Items were taken from both stores.

The stores are 10 miles apart, but deputies believe the same person is responsible for both crimes.
