Raleigh police officer reassigned following response to fight at Raleigh high school

A school resource officer has been temporarily reassigned following a Wednesday morning fight at a Raleigh high school, authorities said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A school resource officer has been temporarily reassigned following a Wednesday morning fight at a Raleigh high school, authorities said.

Raleigh police said the officer, who was not identified, responded to a fight between two students at Sanderson High School.

Cell phone video shows that the officer, at one point, had the student subdued on the ground.

Raleigh police said the officer seen in the video has been reassigned to the department’s Crime Reporting Center while as the incident is investigated.

Officials with the Wake County Public School System said they are also looking into the incident.
