Nana's, popular Durham restaurant floods as storms soak Triangle
A restaurant in Durham was cleaning up Friday after it was flooded overnight during the persistent wet weather that has soaked the Triangle this week.

Workers at Nana's, located at 2514 University Drive, reported standing water inside the main dining room, private rooms and administrative offices.

The damage amount from the flooding was not immediately available, but workers spent several hours to remove the water and materials damaged by it.
Employees piled up a mound of soaked cardboard and other items that were damaged by the flood water.

According to the restaurant's website, Nana's opened in December 1992 and underwent a remodeling and expansion in March 2000.
Neal Benefield, who said he has worked at the restaurant for eight years, said the eatery has dealt with flooding in the past.
"It is happening again (and) I wish it wouldn't," said Benefield, who has worked at Nana's for eight years. "There is a feeling of helplessness, that you want to be able to do more but you can't."
Workers said it was not immediately clear if the restaurant would open Friday for business.
