Police: Man raped, gave illegal substance to minor
Goldsboro police arrested a 42-year-old man Thursday for allegedly having sex with and giving an illegal substance to a minor.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Goldsboro police arrested a 42-year-old man Thursday for allegedly raping and giving an illegal substance to a minor.
Quadius Nathaniel Gaines, who also goes by Alvin Nathaniel Gaines Jr., was charged with four counts of statutory rape of a person who is 13-, 14- or 15-years-old and one count of delivering a controlled substance to a person under 16 by a person 18 or older.
Gaines, of 1901-B E. Holly St., was being held in the Wayne County Jail Friday under a $100,000 bond.
Police opened an investigation into Gaines in May after receiving a report from the Department of Social Services.
