Police Chief Candidates Meet With Durham Leaders

The top candidates for Durham's next police chief are in town to interview with city leaders.

DURHAM, N.C. — It is down to five candidates in the search for Durham's next police chief.

The top candidates to replace outgoing Chief Steve Chalmers were in Durham Friday to meet with city leaders. Durham Deputy Chief Ron Hodge is one of the finalists being considered.

Residents will have a chance to meet the candidates at a public forum on June 5.

Chalmers, who has been Durham's police chief since January 2003, is retiring at the end of the year.
