Oxford man dies in wreck

An Oxford man died when his car ran off the road and struck a tree along a road south of town Wednesday night, state troopers said.

OXFORD, N.C. — An Oxford man died when his car ran off the road and struck a tree south of town Wednesday night, state troopers said.

Bobby Lee Brandon, 56, died in the wreck along Fielding Knott Road around 11:30 p.m.

Troopers said that alcohol was a factor in the wreck.
