A 20-year-old man died Saturday after he was struck by a car on U.S. Highway 401 (Fayetteville Road) in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 20-year-old man died Saturday night after he was struck by a car on U.S. Highway 401 (Fayetteville Road) in Raleigh.

Officials with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Daquarn Smith was walking in the southbound lanes of the highway near the Buffalo Lanes bowling alley at 6701 Fayetteville Rd. when a car struck him.

Smith died as a result of his injuries. Officials say the driver who struck him was not speeding, and no charges have been filed.
