The president will visit Mooresville Middle School, north of Charlotte, to make remarks and see what he calls the school’s cutting-edge curriculum that promotes digital learning.
The stop is part of Obama’s “Middle-Class Jobs and Opportunity Tour,” which launched last month with a visit to a school in Austin, Texas, followed by a stop at a business and school in Baltimore.
The tour focuses on improving the economy through initiatives that create middle class jobs. Schools with innovative programs serve as the backdrop.
“President Obama is not waiting for Congress to act, and he will continue pushing lawmakers on Capitol Hill to take action on our economic initiatives while doing everything he can to strengthen the economy and create jobs,” the White House said in its blog last month.
Obama will arrive at the Charlotte International Airport about 1:30 p.m. and is scheduled to depart from there at 4:15 p.m.
