North Johnston High student among those killed in wreck

A North Johnston High School student was one of two people killed in a three-car wreck on N.C. Highway 39 four miles north of Selma on Monday afternoon.

SELMA, N.C. — A North Johnston High School student was one of two people killed in a three-car wreck on N.C. Highway 39 four miles north of Selma on Monday afternoon.

The wreck occurred when a vehicle, driven by Nathan Cole, 18, of Selma, crossed the center line, side-swiped another vehicle and hit another car head-on, Johnston County Highway Patrol Trooper BJ Hare said.

Cole was the only person in vehicle. He was wearing a seat belt, Hare said.

No one in the second vehicle was injured.

The driver of the third vehicle, Victoria Jordan, 42, of Burgaw, was killed. She was the only person in the vehicle and she was wearing a seat belt.
