No injuries reported when fire tears through Durham home

No serious injuries were reported early Saturday when fire tore through a house northwest of downtown Durham.

DURHAM, N.C. — No serious injuries were reported early Saturday when fire tore through a house northwest of downtown Durham.

Crews responded to the Oakland Avenue home shortly after 2 a.m. and found fire ripping through the back of the home.

One person inside the home got out safely and was taken to a local hospital for reasons unrelated to the fire, authorities said.

An investigation of the cause of the fire is ongoing.
