Officers say two 15-year-old girls argued on the bus, thencarried the argument into the parking lot in the Raleigh Gardensneighborhood.
Witness Jamil Peebles says he tried to break up the fight.
Police say one of the girls attacked the other with a small butcherknife in the parking lot. Dozens of students, neighbors and friendswatched the attack.

The victim is in satisfactory condition at Wake Medical CenterHospital. Her alleged assailant is being charged, as a juvenile, withassault with a deadly weapon. Police said the argument started over aremark made by one of the girlsabout the other.
