NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, N.C. — One person died Monday night in an accident in Northampton County.
Authorities say 41-year-old Mamie Risper of Washington, D.C., lost control of her car, ran off the road and hit a tree off Tower Road. Risper died as a result of her injuries.
Her daughters, 19-year-old Janet Risper and 2-year-old Jaden Risper, are listed in stable condition at Pitt Memorial.
Mamie Risper, who is originally from Northampton County, was visiting family for the holidays.
Officers say it is too early to tell if speed or alcohol played a role in the crash.
