Downtown Homicide Was Not Random, Raleigh Police Say

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police said that a man killed Thursday afternoon in downtown Raleigh was targeted for a reason, but released few other details about the investigation.

Police spokesman Jim Sughrue said Travis Earl Holder, 23, was shot just before 1 p.m. on the

500 block of East Lenoir Street

near South Swain Street.

The assailant was last seen heading north on Swain Street. Police have yet to release a description of the man.

No further information about the investigation has been released.
