RALEIGH, N.C. — An April shooting at an
Employment Security Commission Office
has prompted changes statewide.
ESC offices now have a zero tolerance policy on verbal threats, whether they are jokes or not. They will also have just one entrance and exit so visitors can be monitored.
Employee cubicles will also have more glass panels so meetings can be monitored.
The changes come after a man upset about his jobless benefits shot and killed an ESC manager in Hendersonville.
