DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are looking into a man involved in an alleged home invasion Monday.

Authorities said a woman called police at 4:02 p.m. and told them a man had broken into her Anderson Street house and tied her up. The man, who has been identified as 43-year-old Alfred Dwayne Thompson, attempted to break out two windows before he kicked in a door to enter the house.

Investigators said Thompson fled with a small amount of cash. The victim was not injured.

Thompson was charged Tuesday with robbing a Durham couple earlier that day at their home in the 400 block of Hoover Road in eastern Durham.

He has also been charged with breaking into Durham Academy and obtaining property by false pretense.

Thompson is not in custody at this time. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Durham Police Department or
