Wendell Man Charged in Child Sex Case
Police have charged Mark Officer, 36, in connection with incidents they said happened between 2003 and 2005.

WENDELL, N.C. — A Wendell man was arrested Saturday on sex charges involving a child and ordered held in lieu of $2 million bail, authorities said.
Wendell police charged Mark Officer, 36, with first-degree statutory rape and three counts of sexual offense with a girl under the age of 13. Police said the alleged incidents took place between 2003 and 2005.
No details of the charges were made public.
Officer was arraigned before a Wake County magistrate, who set bail.
