GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro hardware store hopes to reopen later this week after a car flew through its roof Sunday evening.
Officials say the car careened off Highway 70 during a high-speed chase, went airborne and crashed into the the Delmus Hardware building.
The driver, Leandro Martinez Noriega, 30, is listed in stable condition in a local hospital.
He faces several charges including driving while impaired, speeding to elude arrest and careless and reckless driving.
The business owners estimate damages at $150,000 to $200,000.
