Novozymes To Partner On Biofuels Effort

Posted — Updated

FRANKLINTON, N.C. — Novozymes, a developer of enzyme technology focused on creation of alternative fuels, is teaming up with a South Dakota firm to develop means of turning corn stalk remainders into ethanol.

The project will work on corn stovers – what remains of a corn plant in fields after the corn has been harvested.

Novozymes’ partner is Broin, which is based in South Dakota. The two firms are seeking to develop a cost-effective means of brining corn stover-based ethanol to market. Both companies have worked together in the past, developing technology to help build refineries based on bio-based alternative fuels.
