VANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A Warren County sheriff's deputy is recovering after being involved in a car accident.
The accident happened in Vance County on U.S. Highway 1 near Kitrell.
Deputy Shirley Steed was transferring four juvenile girls from Raleigh to court in Warren County when they were involved in an accident with a Ford Bronco.
Steed and four juveniles were not hurt seriously, but they were transported to the hospital. Steed was treated and released from the hospital.
May Journigan, the driver of the Bronco, was charged with a yield violation and driving with a revoked license. Journigan was also transported to the hospital.
