Child Left Alone At Rocky Mount Restaurant

Authorities said 10 children with the Fairplay Child Center went to CiCi's Pizza in Rocky Mount on Friday. When the three adults who accompanied the children left the restaurant, they did not realize that one of the children was missing.

An employee at the restaurant found the girl in the bathroom crying and later called police.

"What I will do is go back and evaluate to make sure that company policy was followed," day care owner Willie Lucas said. "The first thing I would look at is to make sure that the employee training is more intense. If this incident happened, it tells me that something slipped through the cracks."

Authorities said the girl is OK. State officials said they will investigate the incident.
