Chemical Leak Forces Evacuation At Raleigh Bank

Posted — Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A chemical leak at a Raleigh bank forced an evacuation of the building.

Raleigh Fire Chief Earl Fowler says there was a suspicious odor coming from the bank's computer room, and that four people reported feeling nauseous at the SouthTrust Bank at 3301 Edwards Mill Road.

Officials said the four people were OK after they went outside for some fresh air. There is no word as to what caused the odor. The bank manager thinks it might have been a minor gas leak.
