Acento Latino
, which is based in Cumberland County, is expanding its news coverage to include eight counties.
In just three years, the newspaper's circulation has more than tripled from 5,000 to 17,000 copies per month.
Editor Katia Fraser said that
Acento Latino
gives the Hispanic community a chance to be seen and heard.
"The difference between other newspapers coming out is they concentrate on international news and the different countries. We're trying to make it as more of the community within the counties we serve," Fraser said.
Starting Tuesday, the newspaper will be published twice a week. It is available on racks in supermarkets, discount stores and Mexican restaurants.
