N.C. State police honor life-saving CPR students
North Carolina State University police on Friday honored three students who used CPR to save a fellow student's life.

Robert Olson, Matthew Cross and Jonathan Smetana were recognized for their quick thinking on Sept. 2 when they saw Spencer Shell collapse while jogging on campus.
They noticed the jogger wasn't breathing and administered CPR until emergency medical workers arrived. Five other students helped move Shell to a a flat area and called 911.

Shell was taken to Rex Hospital and was recovering.
"As a university, we try to pride ourselves as being a part of the Wolfpack family," Capt. John Barnwell said. "We strive very hard to instill in our students the ability to understand what it is to be a good community member, to step up, to lend a helping hand during times of need with anybody."
N.C. State police also honored members of the Wake County and Raleigh rescue squads who worked on Shell for a half hour.
The ceremony was held Friday afternoon at the Talley Student Center.
