FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville State University trustees on Wednesday approved a policy that would allow students to rent textbooks rather than purchasing them.

Beginning in the fall semester, students who are taking a minimum of 12 course hours can rent textbooks for $140 per semester. Part-time students, those enrolled for fewer than 12 course hours, will pay $70; during summer semesters, all students will pay a $30 rental fee.

The rental covers all required books that cost more than $50. Any books with a retail value of less than $50, and any course materials with a one-time use, ancillary study guides or lab books are excluded from the rental agreement.
