A Greenville Police sergeant was presumed dead after a house fire on Saturday morning.

AYDEN, N.C. — A Greenville Police sergeant was presumed dead after a house fire on Saturday morning.
Emergency crews responded to Sergeant Tim "Mac" McInerney's home on Fox Hollow Drive in Ayden.
Officials said his cause of death is still under investigation.
The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death.
More information will be released after an official identification by the Pitt County Medical Examiner’s Office and an autopsy is scheduled next week.
