NC aquarium welcomes new baby sea turtles
The NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher welcomed two new additions. The tiny loggerhead turtles are making a big splash into the hearts of North Carolinians.
Posted — UpdatedThe team at NCAFF rescued Pip and Scout after the two hatchlings were found in their nest at Carolina Beach and Fort Fisher. For decades, the Aquarium team has been caring for hatchlings that don't make it to the ocean.
Weighing less than half a pound, the tiny ambassadors help amplify the Aquarium’s mission to inspire others to appreciate and conserve the environments of these cute aquatic creatures.
“Inspiring the next generation to tell the story of loggerhead sea turtles like Pip and Scout bolsters our work to save this protected species,” said Andy Gould, education curator, NCAFF.
