Busy Fayetteville bridge to be widened
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Morganton Road bridge will completely reopen to traffic at 5 p.m. Friday, North Carolina Department of Transportation officials said.

Officials closed the bridge over the All-American Freeway for the $11.8 million project in January.

Transportation officials said the closure was necessary to replace the aging bridge.

The Morganton Road bridge is one of the most heavily-traveled in Fayetteville. Officials estimate 55,000 vehicles cross the roadway each day.
