DURHAM, N.C. — Police were searching Friday for a 39-year-old man wanted for breaking into and stealing from Gospel Church, in the 1300 block of Ellis Road, in May.

Emanuel Joel Lennon, of Apex Highway, faces break-in and larceny charges for the incident, which occurred between May 17 and 23.

Someone stole a TV, DVD/VCR player, CD player and musical equipment from the church, investigators said.

According to the state Department of Correction records, Lennon has numerous convictions for larceny, breaking-and-entering, possessing stolen goods and drug possession dating to 1987.

DOC records show Lennon most recently served a six-month sentence in 2007 and 2008 for possessing stolen goods, speeding to elude arrest and violating his probation from eight convictions in 2006.

Anyone with information on Lennon’s whereabouts should call Investigator Sterling at 919-450-4415, ext. 29303 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
