Man dead, woman hurt from double shooting in Rocky Mount

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A man was killed in a double shooting on Sunday morning in Rocky Mount.
Rocky Mount officers responded to the Shell Food Mart on West Raleigh Boulevard around 2:30 a.m. after hearing two people had been shot.
Nhazavias Coppedge, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 22-year-old woman was also found to be shot and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers said the shooting is isolated and doesn't pose a threat to the public. No information was released on possible suspects.
Authorities are investigating.
An hour before police responded to the food mart, an 11-year-old boy was found shot on Meadowbrook Road in Rocky Mount.
