RALEIGH, N.C. — We're happy to announce that Lynda Loveland has returned to WRAL-TV.

She will co-anchor WRAL News on FOX 50 weekday mornings 7 to 9 a.m. with Michelle Marsh. She will also report and fill-in anchor on WRAL.

Loveland worked in the WRAL newsroom for 10 years before leaving the anchor desk for a morning drive co-host spot on Capitol Broadcasting Company sister radio station MIX101.5 WRAL-FM.

After five years at the radio mic, she’s ready to return to television.

“I'm absolutely thrilled to be coming back to WRAL-TV! Not only is the name synonymous with news excellence, but for me, it also stands for family. I can't wait to get back in the newsroom Friday morning,”  she said.

Judging by the response on social media, viewers are excited to see her back on television. The facebook pages of WRAL-TV, FOX 50, and MIX 101.5 exploded with comments of support. #WelcomeHomeLynda generated 259,561 impressions on Twitter, where WRAL-TV News Director Rick Gall broke the news.

"Lynda is a seasoned journalist and talented anchor," Gall said. "She's very well known across the viewing area. For more than 15 years, she's interacted and connected with people here. It's great to have her back in the newsroom!"
