Kidzu Museum Celebrates 2nd Birthday

Staff planned to celebrate the second anniversary of the opening of the Kidzu Children's Museum Sunday.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Staff planned to celebrate the second anniversary of the opening of the Kidzu Children's Museum Sunday.

A cake-cutting ceremony was set for 2 p.m., and museum of employees will serve cake and cupcakes until supplies run out.

The anniversary celebration also features the traveling exhibit, "The Amazing Castle." Dragons, lords and ladies welcome visitors into a medieval castle community.

The museum was offering free admission from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. It is located at 105 E. Franklin St. in downtown.

Since it opened, Kidzu has already outgrown its 2,700-sq-ft space, with more than 30,000 visitors in its first year of operation.
