Johnston County issues water shortage advisory

On Thursday morning, Johnston County is warning people of a water shortage after a pipe failure at the county water plant.

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — On Thursday morning, Johnston County is warning people of a water shortage after a pipe failure at the county water plant.

Johnston County officials say all customers should stop all non-essential water use such as irrigation or filling swimming pools. The shortage is expected to end within 24 to 48 hours.

Crews are working to repair the problem and restore service.
