Fayetteville man killed in weekend crash between car, pickup

Fayetteville police said one person was killed in a two-vehicle accident that happened Saturday night.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police have identified the man who was killed after he was thrown from his car during a weekend crash with a pickup truck in Fayetteville.

Nathan Lawrence Page, 29, of Fayetteville, died after he was rushed to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after the accident, which occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Skibo Road near Swain Street.

Lawrence was driving a 2010 Nissan Maxima, which was southbound on Skibo Road.

The Nissan crashed into a 2005 Ram 3500 that was making a left turn onto Swain Street from Skibo Road, police said in a written statement..

The driver of the pickup was identified as John Scott Hayes, 56, of Houston, Texas. 

The south side of Skibo Road from Swain Street toward Yadkin Road was closed during the investigation. Motorists were encouraged to use an alternate route until the road is opened.

Police did not say if anyone would be ticketed or charged in connection with the fatal crash.
