DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham family was displaced early Saturday after their home caught fire.

The two-story house at 4236 Amber Stone Way went up in flames at about 1:40 a.m.

Forty firefighters responded to the blaze. Smoke and flames were shooting from the attic when they arrived.

The family was not home at the time of the fire.

The house sustained heavy fire damage to the second floor and attic. A neighboring house suffered heat damage.
