RALEIGH, N.C. — CVS pharmacies in Raleigh and Chapel Hill were robbed early Monday.

Although police haven't said the two cases are linked, three men participated in each holdup, including one wearing the type of hockey mask made infamous by the character Jason in the "Friday the 13th" series of slasher movies.

The CVS at the corner of Fordham Boulevard and Ephesus Church Road in Chapel Hill was robbed at about 2:30 a.m. The three robbers wore dark clothing and masks, and two were armed, police said.

A K-9 tracked them to the area of the University Inn, where, police said, they likely fled in a vehicle.

The CVS at 2411 Landmark Drive in Raleigh, off Lake Boone Trail, was robbed at about 3:15 a.m. by three men in dark clothing and were armed.

No injuries were reported in either robbery.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-4357, the Chapel Hill Police Department at 919-968-2760 or Chapel Hill Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515.
