Crews restore power to Wake County customers

Almost 9,000 Duke Energy Progress customers in Wake County were without power for about three hours Saturday afternoon.

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — Almost 9,000 Duke Energy Progress customers in Wake County were without power for about three hours Saturday afternoon.

The outage was reported around 2:30 p.m. Power was restored to customers by about 5:30 p.m., according to Duke's website.

According to Cary police, the power outage happened after a problem at a substation.
