Counselors available following Ellington teen death
Grief counselors are available for fellow students Monday after a 17-year-old girl from Ellington was killed in a car crash on Saturday night.
Posted — UpdatedPolice identified the victim as Olivia Wentworth, who succumbed to her injuries at Hartford Hospital.
The counselors will be available at Ellington High School. They will open their doors at 8 am.
Family and friends have been gathering near where the crash happened at Route 10 and Town Line Road in Plainville.
Olivia Wentworth's father, Scott Wentworth, said his daughter was on her way home when a Dodge Dakota pickup truck collided with the Volkswagen Rabbit in which she was a passenger.
Police said the truck was traveling north on East Street while the car was traveling east on Town Line Road. The car entered the intersection and that's when the collision happened.
People in both vehicles suffered serious injuries; however, Olivia Wentworth died from hers.
Scott Wentworth said his daughter dreamed of working with special needs children.
"I did so many things with her. She was my little buddy and I have a six-year-old son. She loved him more than life itself. And he loved her more than life itself. It breaks my heart that he's not going to have her anymore," Wentworth said.
"Hug your children and love them and don't take them for granted. And I love you Livie," Wentworth said. "Just watch down on us and your brother."
