Clayton Marine passes away

A Camp Lejuene-based Marine badly injured in Afghanistan has died, officials said Thursday.

CLAYTON, N.C. — A Camp Lejuene-based Marine badly injured in Afghanistan has died, officials said Thursday. 

Sgt. Mark Bradley, 25, of Clayton, was injured by an improvised explosive device earlier in June.

Bradley served with the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force. He was originally from Cuba, N.Y.

He received a Purple Heart medal for his actions. 

Funeral arrangements are pending.
