CARY, N.C. — A Cary man faces a charge of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle for hitting and killing a man in a crosswalk Wednesday evening.

Police said Steve Biddy, 52, of Bannerman Lane, could face up to 150 days in jail.

Biddy turned right from Caviston Way onto Davis Drive and hit Wei Ming Yang, 64, police said. Yang, a Chinese national who was visiting relatives in Cary, died the next day of his injuries.

Biddy was also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, although police said he was not impaired at the time of the crash.
