Wake leads state in take from appliance rebates

RALEIGH, N.C. — Residents of Wake County scooped up more than $1 million in rebates on appliances last week during a federally funded program designed to put more energy efficient machines in North Carolina homes. Those customers bought more than 54,400 energy efficient refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers and clothes washing machines worth an estimated $46.4 million in sales.
