FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Two teens were hurt in a shooting near Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville after a football game against Cape Fear on Friday night.

Someone shot 19-year-old Phillip Lytch and 18-year old Frank Haskins by the Seventy-First Classical Middle School, according to the sheriff's office. Their injuries were not serious, officials said.

On Saturday, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office charged a ninth-grade student with communicating a threat of mass violence on educational property in relation to the shooting. Authorities said the person arrested made posts on social media shortly after the shooting, which took place after the game was over.

Cumberland County School officials said in a statement that, "Our thoughts are with the Seventy-First High School family and the individuals recovering from the incident of violence."

There will be additional security at the high school on Monday following a social media threat against the school. The child who posted the threat was identified by school resource officers and officials are continuing to investigate the threat.
