Power returns for thousands along Raleigh's Glenwood Ave

Nearly 3,000 people were in the dark Wednesday night after a power outage along Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Nearly 3,000 people were in the dark for about two hours Wednesday night after a power outage along Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh.

Duke Energy Progress said that 2,892 people were without power after equipment was damaged. No information about what caused the damage was available.

The outage caused traffic lights at several intersections to stop working, affecting traffic in northwest Raleigh. Police said that officers went to the affected intersections to help direct traffic.

The outage was reported just after 8 p.m. and power returned just before 10 p.m.
