Andrea forms, promises rain for NC
At 11 p.m. Wednesday, Tropical Storm Andrea had maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. The forecast track takes the storm through the Tar Heel state on Friday and into Saturday. The National Hurricane Center posted a tropical storm watch for the east coast from Florida to just north of Wilmington.

Wednesday night into Thursday morning will be mild, with perhaps an isolated shower or two, especially to the south and west of the Triangle. Rain will build as the day wears on.

College baseball fans will be watching the weather to see how it affects two local teams playing in the NCAA Super Regionals this Friday. UNC plays South Carolina at 1 p.m., and N.C. State plays Rice at 4 p.m.
The weekend's weather looks a little better and will be partly cloudy and warmer with a high of 86 degrees on Saturday and Sunday. Stray showers and storms are possible, though.
