RALEIGH, N.C. — First Friday, Tyrese and Carolina Music Awards lead our weekend best bets! 

It is First Friday again in downtown Raleigh and Out and About has you covered. Just head over to the Out and About section of WRAL.com to check out a complete guide to the fun including music and restaurant specials. City Market is celebrating First Friday with an Independence Day after party featuring live music starting at 7 p.m.

Also on Friday night, a few shows to tell you about: Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank with special guest Fantasia play the Red Hat Amphitheater. Tickets start at $38. Also that night, Durham's Toon and the Real Laww are playing a free show at The Pour House in Raleigh.

The annual Festival for the Eno continues Saturday in Durham. The event features live music, crafts and more! Admission is $20 at the gate and $15 in advance.

WeeseFest is happening this weekend at Lincoln Theater and Kings Barcade. The event is a birthday party for Walter Benton Weese, a bartender at Big Boss. Every year, he asks his favorite bands to come to Raleigh to play a special show for his birthday, with proceeds going to a local charity. Acts this year include Jack the Radio, Gray Young and Lustre. There is a $10 cover charge. Proceeds go to the Jim “Catfish” Hunter Chapter of the American ALS Society.

Artists from North and South Carolinas will be honored during the annual Carolina Music Awards Saturday night at the Duke Energy Center. Lots of local artists are nominated. Tickets start at $25.

Comedian D.L. Hughley plays Goodnight's Comedy Club in Raleigh through Sunday. Tickets are $25.

And finally, Big Time Rush plays Time Warner Cable Pavilion at Walnut Creek in Raleigh on Sunday.
