Man arrested in Cary double shooting

Cary police charged a Raleigh man in connection with a shooting that injured two people in the Mobile Estates Trailer Park on Southeast Maynard Road early Saturday.

CARY, N.C. — Cary police charged a Raleigh man in connection with a shooting that injured two people in the Mobile Estates Trailer Park on Southeast Maynard Road early Saturday.

Daniel Lawrence Olvera, 20, shot a 27-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy at Waco and Stone streets shortly before 3 a.m., police said.

The victims were treated at WakeMed in Raleigh. A 19-year-old man was also treated at the scene.

Olvera faces three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Police did not release the identities or conditions of the two victims. They did say the shooting did not appear to have been random and that more arrests are possible.
