GOLDSBORO, N.C. — On Sunday, authorities in Goldsboro discovered a body – the third body found in three days.

According to the Goldsboro Police Department, officers found a body in a wooded area near the 2200 block of Royal Avenue on Sunday. Authorities identified the body as 34-year-old Shawnell Kearston Alves, of Goldsboro. Her body was found inside a tent at the location, authorities said.

Alves was one of three bodies discovered between Friday and Sunday.

Authorities initially discovered the first two bodies on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, officers found the body of Richard Lane in a wooded area near the intersection of I-795 North and West Ash Street.

On Saturday, officers with the Goldsboro police and the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections Probation/Parole found the body of 40-year-old Billy Wayne Saunders at a hotel on the 1100 block of Sunburst Drive.

Authorities don’t suspect foul play.
